We were delighted to train MDP Racing’s first winner as Palmarian, partnered by Jimmy, broke his maiden with a determined success at Leicester’s Ladies Day.  It was heart-in-the-mouth stuff as the pair weaved their way through the field, producing a perfectly timed late challenge to get up on the line.

PALMARIAN, tumbling in the weights and tackling a mile for the first time, had perhaps threatened more than he’d achieved since joining this yard, but he put everything together and got up to chin the idling runner-up in the dying strides. Rated 75 at his peak for the Gosdens, he’s far from straightforward but should benefit from a boost in confidence and could be up to defying a small rise.
